● Penalty Corners will be played in the matches.

Pitches
Pitches 1 and 2 are closest to the Club House. Pitch 3 and 4 are on the further away pitches.(they will be marked if this changes.

Spectators
For safety reasons, only the manager, coach, umpire and participating players can be inside the pitch surround during games. There is ample space for spectators in the stand and along the edge of the pitch behind the fence.

NO ONE SHOULD BE STOOD BEHIND A GOAL. Coaches, subs, teams that are off all need to be stood down the side of the pitches not behind the goals!

Behaviour
This is a young person’s event and everyone attending (whether as a player, umpire, team official or spectator) is subject to the England Hockey Code of Conduct.
Clubs will be held responsible for the behaviour of those participating and spectating. In particular, any abuse of tournament officials, players or umpires will not be tolerated and offenders may be required the leave the grounds and may be reported under the EH Code.

Rules and Regulations
This competition follows the In2Hockey rules. Normal hockey balls will be used in all matches (not the lighter In2Hockey balls)
Reminders:
(1) Each team must have a fully kitted goalkeeper on the pitch at all times.
(2) Teams can bring up to 10 players (including GK). Matches are 7-a-side
(3) It is strongly recommended that all outfield players wear shin-protectors and mouth-guards.
(4) The health and safety of all players is the responsibility of the club entering the tournament. It is strongly recommended that clubs have a first-aid kit and someone trained in first-aid available.
(5) Ages:
a. For the U12 Competition, players must have been born on or after 01/09/2011.
b. For the U10 Competition, players must have been born on or after 01/09/2013
(6) Players shall not participate in more than one In2Hockey Clubs Championship competition in any one season. In exception to the above a team may field a fully kitted goalkeeper who has played in a different age group if permission has been requested to and approved by the organiser. Approval will be granted where the Organiser decides that exceptional circumstances exist. The decision of the Organiser shall be final.
(7) Girls’ teams at Under 10, and Under 12 must consist of girls only. Boys teams at Under 12 must consist of boys only. In the Boys U10 competition a maximum of two girls will be permitted to form part of the squad, however they may not play for both the U10 girls and U10 boys’ competitions.
(8) One umpire for each team will need to be provided by your club to umpire your own team’s group games (and potentially playoff and final matches). Umpires MUST be competent and confident. This is a competition that leads onto an Area Final so it’s important that the umpiring is of a good standard to make it fair to all involved. Umpires should keep a record of the score. Please go to the organiser after each game to record the score.
(9) For the Semi-Finals, Finals and 3rd/4th place playoffs, umpires will be required to swap pitches thereby ensuring neutral umpires for those games.

Pool scores
During the pool games, teams are awarded points as follows:
● 3 points for a win
● 1 point for a draw
● 0 points for a loss.

The final table positions are determined firstly by number of points, if teams are equal on points, their positions will be determined as follows:
1. Goal Difference
2. Goals Scored
3. Winner of match between tied teams
4. Barrage of 3 Penalty Strokes
5. Sudden Death Penalty Strokes
NB – U10 competition, penalty strokes can be taken 5m from the goal line rather than 7m.

Penalty Stroke Competition Format:
The Set Up
● The umpires shall choose the goal to be used and they shall toss a coin with the captains to decide which team shall take the first penalty stroke.
● The goalkeeper from the team which is taking the current penalty stroke shall stand next to the umpire who is on the goal line.
● Only the team managers and nominated stroke takers may be on the pitch during the penalty stroke competition. All these people will stand together way from the line of the goal until required to take a penalty stroke.

The Initial Penalty Stroke Competition
● Three players from each of the two teams, chosen by their respective team manager, shall take a penalty stroke alternately against one and the same goalkeeper of the other team unless the latter has been incapacitated and replaced, making a total of six penalty strokes, three for each team.
● If, during the penalty stroke competition, a player (either a stroke taker or a goalkeeper) is suspended, then that player shall take no further part in that penalty stroke competition and, unless a goalkeeper, cannot be substituted.
If a stroke taker, any stroke the player should have been entitled to take will be counted as no goal.
If a goalkeeper, the replacement may only be from one of the nominated stroke takers. The player replacing the goalkeeper may continue to take penalty strokes but, when required to defend penalty strokes must wear full goalkeeping equipment.
● The team having been awarded the highest number of goals shall be the winner and the competition will cease once an outright winner has been established.
“Sudden Death”
● In the event of an equal number of goals having been awarded, another series of penalty strokes shall be started with the same players, subject to incapacitated players being replaced, and shall feature "sudden death", which will mean that the winner shall be the first team to have been awarded more goals than the opposing team after an equal number of strokes (no minimum) have been taken by each team.
● If necessary, this "sudden death" series may exceed 6 penalty strokes. The sequence does not need to be the same as in the previous series and the team manager has freedom of choice at the time of each stroke as to which of the three nominated players will take the stroke using all three nominated players per round.
● The team whose player has taken the first penalty stroke of the first series shall not take the first penalty stroke of the "sudden death" series.

The winners and the runners-up for both U10 & U12 will go through to represent Hampshire at the South Central Area Final, venue and date TBC. The winners from the Area round will go onto the national Final, (U12s ONLY)

Good luck to all teams.
